Ken Lauterstein: As we told many of our friends and neighbors; if we ever had to build this house again we would insist on using the same builder; Floyd Enterprises. Particularly, Don Winter; our project manager; and David Farber; the Foreman. Through the entire process they were extremely cooperative and helpful. Working with a team of sub-contrators who have known each other as much as 25 years, made it very easy to make changes. In turn they advised us of things we needed to know and changes we needed to make. They made the process very easy unlike many stories we have heard from many of our friends who built with another company.

Joan Lauterstein: I think too the thing that made it so easy is I felt I could call at any time if I had a question. Everyone was very patient. Don Winter said that they would help us and gently guide us along the way. And that is just what they did. He also said that this is a custom house and you shouldn’t have to settle for anything. It just goes to show that they take pride in their work and they treat it as if it was their own home being built. I think that says a lot about Floyd Enterprises.

Phil Floyd and Floyd Enterprises built our house in the early 2000s. We have been very happy the results. As you can see, here at Smith Mountain Lake they have done a fine job at pulling together a lot of components including matching some of the activities and the horse farm that the house resides on. We took occupancy later in Oct 2001. It has been over 5 years and we are happy with our home. Things have worked very well out and we love living here on the lake. The project manager, Dave Farber lead the activities and crew that did the work here. A lot of good folks worked with him; Rocko and Dave Hohenbrink did the wonderful wood work that is on the inside.

Mrs. Thompson: We’re really happy with our Floyd Enterprise house…..it was the type of house that we were looking for and we looked at many homes. The project manager, Joe Byron took us literally by the hand and worked with us. We really appreciate the workmanship and craftsman he brought in to work on the home. They were phenomenal! Joe helped make it an enjoyable experience. I had built a home before and was not looking forward to it but this was a very pleasurable experience for us.

Mr. Thompson: We found during the building process that we had certainly hooked up with a great company. And with an excellent project manager in Joe Byron. The company and Joe are people of integrity. They do what they say they are going to do. And they work with you and after you go to closing they do not drop you at all. They work along with you. And are now about 7 months out from closing on our house - we’re still interacting with Joe.He feels like a member of the family.
